Tandy Trusty, author of Cooper's Mini Adventure, met with all first grade classes this morning. Mrs. Trusty is a local author who shared the book and her writing experience with the children. She is also Mrs. Fulkerson's former 5th grade teacher! We appreciate Mrs. Trusty and Mrs. Fulkerson for arranging this experience.

Our 3rd grade students presented NubAbility founder, Sam Kuhnert, with a check for $1,394.50 this afternoon. The money raised from their fundraiser will provide limb different athletes with the opportunity to attend a camp through NubAbility.

Our first grade classes finished up their Ancient Egyptians unit as we head out for Thanksgiving Break. Classes made necklaces, pharaoh hats, and were archaeologists digging for "chocolate" jewels! Great work first grade team!
Tomorrow night is almost here! We hope to see everyone at our annual Family Reading Night. Reminder that we are still collecting for the Food Drive. Donations can be dropped off in the office as you make your way to our Family Reading Night activities. Students are encouraged to wear their superhero gear!

Throughout the month of November, Tri-C will be collecting the following items that will go back directly to our students and community. Please help us in ensuring our students' most basic needs are met. We appreciate the tremendous support of our community members. Please share this post and help spread the word. Thank you!
Tri-C Elementary's Family Reading Night will be held on Thursday, November 16th from 5:30-7:30. We will have free fun, food, games and great guest readers. Bring the entire family and celebrate this year's Family Reading Night with us.

Our 3rd Grade students met Kayleb Wagner, a limb different student athlete for the SIU Saluki football team. Kayleb talked to us about being born with one hand and how to treat others who are different than you. He is a tremendous young man and wonderful example of hard work and perseverance. See more about his story by clicking the following link. Thank you Kayleb for spending time with us today. Go Dawgs!

Our 3rd grade classes "scrubbed in" this morning as they took part in their culminating activity. Over the last several weeks they have been studying the human body in their Language Arts block. Today, each class worked in stations and completed various activities about the human body and its systems.
Thank you to Dr. and Mrs. Dabrowski for their generous donation to make this happen.

With cooler temperatures here today and in the forecast, here are a few reminders.
Front doors open at 7:30am. Please keep your child in the car until the doors open.
We will go outside for recess if the wind chill is 30 degrees or above. Dress warm.
Label tags on coats and other winter items. Lost items will be placed in the lost and found (cafeteria). The lost and found will be collected on December 19th and donated to a local resale store.
