Mrs. Shauna Barber was born overseas in Germany, spending a great deal of her childhood overseas. Her father was a Chief Warrant Officer in the Army and upon retirement they resided in DuQuoin, Illinois. Mrs. Barber graduated from DuQuoin High School. She currently lives in Carterville and has lived here since 1994. Mrs. Shauna Barber has two adult children and three grandchildren between the two. Her children were raised in Carterville and now her grandchildren will be as well.

Upon graduating high school, she attended John A. Logan College studying to be an Elementary School Teacher. At that time, her education was cut short to stay home with her children. Mrs. Shauna Barber continued her education after both her children were old enough to attend school. While completing her degree in Special Education, she worked at Carterville Intermediate School as a Paraprofessional. In 2008 she became a Special Education Teacher, teaching in the classroom until 2018.

After Mrs. Shauna Barber completed her Master’s degree in Administration, she received a Special Education Administration position with Williamson County Education Services. She was the Special Education Administrator between 2018 through Spring 2022. Mrs. Shauna Barber was then hired as the 2022-2023 school year Carterville High School Assistant Principal. As Mrs. Barber continued to advance in her career, she was hired the summer of 2023 for the Carterville Junior High School Principal.

Mrs. Shauna Barber is very excited to be the new Carterville Junior High School Principal.
